Are You Sirius?
NASCAR fans, are you Sirius? When Santa came a few weeks back there was a present under my tree from my girlfriend. It was a Sirius satellite radio for my car. This has turned out to be the best present for which anyone who follows NASCAR could ever ask.
Sirius radio channel 128 is the NASCAR channel and I have become an addict to their programming. Daily four-hour shows include "The Morning Drive" with Mike Bagley and David Poole of the Charlotte Observer, "Tradin' Paint" with Steve Post & Chocolate Myers and "Sirius Speedway" with Dave Moody, Suzy Q. Armstrong & Ryan Horn. The lineup also includes weekly programs "NASCAR Live" with Eli Gold and "Tony Stewart Live" with co-host Matt Yocum.
Most of these programs will put NASCAR fans on the air to respond to questions or comment on topics of the day. If I can get through on these phone lines, anyone can, so dial up. In addition one will find that each of these programs also have dedicated email addresses and that the on-air talent actually read what the listeners send them.
Although some of the fan generated chatter sounds just like "normal fan chatter", many of those who call point out interesting observations and contribute to an entertaining banter that lasts all day long. The guests on these shows are the who's who of NASCAR.
The staffs of these programs seem to be "Johnny on the spot" when any news breaks to arrange live interviews with the personalities involved.
On top of that Sirius 128 is where to find NASCAR radio broadcasts from each and every race event. Whether you follow the Craftsman Truck Series, the Nationwide Series or Sprint Cup, NASCAR radio is on Sirius 128. Are you ready?
I had been interested in getting on the satellite radio bandwagon long ago. The reasons I hadn't gotten one prior to this were numerous. I won't list them at this point as that would only confuse readers and lead them to the same conclusion that I had had for many years; "I'll do it later". Do it now!
Some folks might get Sirius as a part of a satellite-ready car system. However, there are numerous models that will work in the car and the home. These radios are relatively inexpensive easy to install for handy people. Professional installation is also available from many places that sell these radios.
NASCAR fans will also be able to enjoy their comedy and music favorites on Sirius. For a complete guide of what Sirius has to offer go to www.sirius.com/whatsonsirius. And let us know if you're Sirius!
